for fresh flower bouquets
Transporting flowers requires careful handling to prevent any damage to their delicate petals. It is advisable to hold the bouquet with both hands during transportation to avoid friction between the paper bag handles and the flowers, which may lead to yellowing or bruising.
1. Without unwrapping the bouquet
For easy maintenance without unwrapping, keep the flowers in a cool location, away from direct sunlight or cold air from air conditioners. Spritzing a light mist of water, especially for hydrangeas, helps to keep them hydrated and fresh.
Without unwrapping it, the flowers can retain their optimal condition for approximately 2 to 3 days.
2. Unwrapping the bouquet
If desired, you can extend the lifespan of the flowers by carefully unwrapping the bouquet and placing them in a suitable container at home. This method can help them last for around 3 to 4 days before wilting.
For maintenance with unwrapping, use clean, sharp scissors to make a diagonal (approximately 45 degrees) cut of about 2-3 cm on the stems. Remember to maintain a cool environment for the flowers and place the flowers in a clean vase filled halfway with fresh water, away from direct sunlight and cold air to ensure their longevity. Change the water every two days, making a fresh diagonal cut on the stems each time.
